As digital transactions and online platforms become an essential part of daily life, scams and frauds have increased at an alarming rate. To address this growing concern, the Lions Club organized a Scam Awareness & Fraud Prevention Workshop on 11 November 2025, with the objective of educating the public about frauds happening in society today.
The workshop was conducted by Tushar Srivastava, Founder of Vyrosec and the Initiator of Scam Shield India, who has been actively working in the field of cybersecurity awareness, scam education, and fraud prevention across communities.
Objective of the Workshop
The workshop aimed to:
Raise awareness about common and emerging scams
Educate people on how fraudsters operate
Help citizens identify early warning signs of scams
Promote safe digital and financial behavior
Encourage timely reporting of fraud and cybercrime
Special emphasis was placed on scams targeting senior citizens, youth, working professionals, and small business owners, who are often the most affected.

Online payment frauds and UPI scams
Phishing calls, fake SMS, and email scams
Social media impersonation and identity theft
Job scams, loan frauds, and investment scams
Cyber hygiene, password safety, and data privacy

Real-life examples were discussed to help participants understand how scams happen in real situations, making the session interactive and impactful.
